In August 2007 I was fortunate to have Rothkopf Landscape Construction and Maintenance recommended to me by a colleague after a “weather bomb” had destroyed several trees on my property. Manfred Rothkopf (Company Manager) and his team were initially employed to replace these trees and carry out general landscaping.
I had an impending project which required retaining walls, fences and decks to be constructed. Manfred and his team took this project on board. I was so impressed with Manfred’s workmanship that I kept him on until late February 2008 to finish the planned work.
During this time he undertook a large number of tasks, including:
- The construction of two major decorative fences with associated landscaping;
- The construction of two major decks including steps and associated landscaping;
- Significant re-planting around the property;
- The construction of retaining walls;
- New paved areas;
- The construction of new rock retaining walls; and
- A new set of stairs to the main entry of the house including tiling thereof.
Manfred’s extensive skills, not only in general landscaping, but also in carpentry, concrete work, block work and tiling have not only pleased me but have been admired by all who visit my property.
Manfred also supervised subcontractor’s efforts such as saw cutters, excavators and drain layers as part of his duties, to ensure all parties’ efforts were coordinated.
Much of the work undertaken was carried out on a time and material basis and Manfred’s accounting for time and other costs was always correctly recorded including an accurate record of the work undertaken.
I have no hesitation in providing Rothkopf (with Manfred as the working Company Manager) for any landscaping or related construction projects.
